About
François Hildebrandt is a French-Polish composer, pianist, and producer specialising in music for film & TV and concert composition.
He collaborated with filmmakers on short films of many genres including a high intensity comedy/thriller, winner of 2nd place at the 2022 Paris International Short Film Festival, and VR-Hybrid documentary, selected as one of two works to be displayed at the 2024 Emerson Film Festival.
His concert work aims at finding common grounds between traditional and modern musical frameworks. Notable projects include the Twelve Modulating Preludes, awarded a special mention at the IBLA Grand Prize Competition, or the Nocturne no 1, commissioned by the Polish Embassy in Dublin.
During his studies at Berklee College of Music, François received several divisional awards and was one of the six composers in his promotion to participate in the Advanced Orchestration course where he composed, conducted, and recorded orchestral cues on a weekly basis.
By producing, directing and editing several short films during his time at the Warsaw Film School, François gained the ability to understand the many challenges and intricacies involved in the production of a film; a trait that proves useful on every collaboration he embarks on.
Having lived in four distinct cultures and countries (France, Poland, the UK, and now the US), François’ artistic mind has been formed by a wide collection of experiences, which allows him to find creative ways of adapting to and bonding with collaborators worldwide.
